The Baltimore Times interviewed two Urban Teachers residents, Naadir Billingsley and Se’Kayla Harrell, about how they are incorporating black history into their curriculum. In the article, Harrell and Billingsley discuss how Urban Teachers prepared them to design effective and relevant lessons. Billingsley told The Baltimore Times: “When deciding on a Black History Month project … I let the students guide their project and what they wanted to learn about African-American history. I thought about the ‘why.’ It wasn’t just a project because it was February and Black History Month.
